Experienced software vendor enters the market for translation quality software

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, March 8, 2018—Advanced International Translations (AIT) has just released AceProof, a brand new translation quality assurance software developed for translators, editors, proofreaders, and translation quality assurance (QA) managers.

Volodymyr Pedchenko, AIT’s Managing Director, says, “Quality is not a random act of fate, rather it is a combination of painstaking work, intellectual effort, attention to detail, and deep respect for a client. AceProof helps translators, editors, proofreaders, and translation QA managers take quality to the next level and helps further optimize their workflow. AceProof allows analyzing translated files and performs 34 checks based around 5 groups of errors. This is a tool that every translator should have in their toolbox to assure accuracy and high-quality translation standards.”

Mistakes don’t stand a chance. AceProof allows inspecting translated files based around 5 groups of potential mistakes: consistency, spaces, punctuation, checks of untranslated fragments, and extras. Redundant or missing spaces and punctuation marks, tag mismatches, capitalization of the first letter in a sentence, and so forth will always be in the spotlight as potential error areas, and although they are not the most prominent mistakes a translator can make, they will definitely spoil the job if these errors are found, despite all the other good work accomplished on an assignment. Also, given it can take a while to find a customer and retaining good customers is so important, it’s better to be careful and to maintain your reputation for producing error-free work.

The essential benefit of AceProof is that the software covers 15 file formats of translation files: DOC, DOCX, RTF, XLF, XLZ, SDLXLIFF, MQXLIFF, MXLIFF, MQXLZ, XLS, XLSX, TTX, TMX, HE, and HLM.

To fill in the blanks in a job, a translator can set the software to check for untranslated words and phrases. AceProof looks for segments that are left untranslated, identifies when the source equals the translation, and finds possibly untranslated words and phrases. The program lets you exclude emails and hyperlinks from the list of untranslated words and allows adding words and phrases that user don’t want translated.

AceProof allows setting Standard, Strict, or Custom rules for QA checks for easy configuration of the inspection parameters. It’s also possible to enable or disable the recognition of consecutive spaces, tag-adjacent spaces, inconsistent leading and trailing spaces, spaces before punctuation marks, end of segments punctuation, consecutive punctuation marks, tag mismatches, text length differences that exceed a specified value, and initial capitalization. It’s also possible to adjust settings for consistency checks and checks of untranslated text.
